Privacy policy

Last updated 11 October 2026

This policy explains what personal data UnbuiltHub collects, why, who we share it with and the choices you have. We keep it to what we need to run the service.

What we collect

  • Account details: your name, username, email address and a securely hashed password. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address and a Google account ID. We never see your Google password.
  • Profile: anything you add, such as your headline, bio, country, skills and interests.
  • Content: ideas, images, comments, likes, join requests and reports you make.
  • Technical data: your IP address and basic request logs, used for security, rate limiting and fixing problems.
  • Analytics: only if you accept analytics cookies (see below).

Why we use it

  • To run your account and show your content to the people you choose.
  • To send emails you need: confirming your address, resetting your password, invitations and security notices.
  • To keep UnbuiltHub safe: preventing spam and abuse, and moderating reported content.
  • To understand how the site is used and improve it (analytics, with your consent).

We don't sell your personal data, and we don't use it for advertising.

Who we share it with

  • Other members see your public profile and the content you post, according to each idea's visibility.
  • Service providers that help us run UnbuiltHub: our hosting provider, our email delivery provider, Google (sign-in and, with consent, Google Analytics), our AI provider for idea ratings, and Paddle for payments once paid plans are available. They may only use the data to provide their service to us.
  • Authorities, when the law requires it.

Cookies

  • Essential cookies keep you signed in and protect sign-in. They can't be turned off.
  • Analytics cookies (Google Analytics) are only set if you click Accept on the cookie banner. You can change your choice any time with “Cookie settings” at the bottom of every page.

How long we keep it

We keep your account data while your account is open. When you delete content it is removed from the site straight away and from backups within 30 days. Security logs are kept for up to 90 days.

Your rights

You can see and edit your profile at any time. You can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, or to delete your account, by writing to info@unbuilthub.com. Depending on where you live (for example the EU, UK or California) you may have further rights, including complaining to your local data protection authority.

Children

UnbuiltHub is not meant for anyone under 16, and we don't knowingly collect their data.

Changes

If we change this policy in a significant way, we'll let you know by email or on the site before the change applies.
